Inbound handling is the crucial first stage that precedes all the other internal transport, sorting and picking processes. This makes it all even more essential that the right solutions are used to unload inbound goods, parcels and packages rapidly and securely from trucks. As a full-service provider, BOWE INTRALOGISTICS offers a host of solutions for both manual and automated unloading to ensure efficient inbound handling. Highly adjustable scissor roller tracks and various unloading aids ease and partially automate the unloading process for items of all sizes. This leaves your employees with more time for tasks that really add value. Telescopic conveyors are often used for automated unloading. They are a robust and ergonomic solution for loading and unloading on loading bridges or ramps. Their extension and retraction are motorized, speeds of up to 1,200 packages per hour are easily achievable and the turnaround time for a truck can often be reduced by up to 30 percent. The compact design of telescopic conveyors means that they are suitable for smaller parcel and distribution centers.

Singulation involves turning the mass of parcels, containers and polythene bags into an aligned stream that can be fed into a sorter. Automatic singulators can handle a broad product spectrum and adjust the speed of the product stream to the changing requirements of the infeed units of the downstream sorter. In doing so, they help to minimize the need for manual intervention and monitoring of operations.

SMARTER INBOUND HANDLING

A Warehouse Management System (WMS) or a Warehouse Control System (WCS) from our BOWE IQ software division control and record every single step in inbound handling and complement our intralogistics portfolio perfectly. They allow efficient cross-docking or returns handling and ensure that the inbound goods are of the right quality. Barcode or RFID technology make it possible to automatically capture all inbound movements and to update the system. With the aid of RFID it is, for example, possible to bulk process loaded units such as pallets without the need for any extra work. As a result, you and your customers always know where their order is – in real time.
