BOWE Cockpit control software: Smart Human Machine Interface
BOWE Cockpit (formerly BÖWE Cockpit) operating software allows Fusion Series inserting systems and Pace 9 card mailing systems to be controlled intuitively and set up easily. Complex programming routines become a thing of the past. Controlling everything from one central point, all you have to do is describe the material to be processed and the machines prepares itself for the production run. This speeds up job changes and, on top of that, the software minimizes training requirements and reduces down times and errors, so that the systems can be used more efficiently. Even the processing of variable, small batches can be turned into profitable, high-speed production.
Simple and intuitive operation
Thanks to the clearly understandable interface and the use of graphics to guide the user, the intuitive touchscreen-based BOWE Cockpit HMI (Human Machine Interface) makes it easy to control the system. It guides the user through the necessary steps to run a job, with only the relevant operating elements being activated. Logical processing steps are highlighted and the interactive help function supports manual changeover processes and error elimination.

Such descriptions, the so-called recipes, can be prepared in advance, copied and flexibly transferred to other networked systems consisting of the same type of machine – very much the smart factory in action. The machine is then adjusted automatically and job changes take a matter of minutes.

BOWE IQ control software also has an answer to the printing and inserting of ever smaller batches. BOWE IQ Small Batch Processing software makes it possible to efficiently process small batches bundled together, e.g. on a roll. The system automatically recognizes when a new job begins and production continues without interruption, with the system making whatever adjustments are required for a new job fully automatically. Typically, all the operator need do is change the enclosures or envelopes.
System level reporting
BOWE Cockpit brings a range of reporting options to the system level, which is a crucial advantage when it is necessary to react to altered conditions or to plan future runs. Precise, targeted production and shift reports help to fully utilize system capacity and support the analysis of completed jobs. BOWE Cockpit reporting can be upgraded at any time by adding further reporting apps from the BOWE One family. The ANV/DBDI app ensures the necessary process integrity.
