The increasing shortage of labor – both skilled and non-skilled – and the high demand for logistics services coupled with ever stricter logistics requirements mean fundamental adjustments to logistics processes are imperative. BOWE IQ’s AMR software allows AMRs or AGVs to be quickly and flexibly integrated into warehouses organized in a wide variety of ways – from simple transport applications or point-to-point transport through goods-to-person concepts to full automation in an integrated overall system. The software’s prime advantage is its fast and smart AMR mapping capability: thanks to BOWE IQ AMR, autonomous mobile robots no longer have to be guided via optical, magnetic or inductive paths on the floor but navigate freely in space. During a teach-in run, the AMR’s sensors register the spatial situation and store this information as a map for the vehicle fleet. During the trip, the scanned actual situation is then continuously compared with the map by the robot. It detects tasks stored in this orientation field, such as loads identified by means of QR codes which must be conveyed to a defined destination, and executes them without any manual intervention. It recognizes obstacles and moves around them fully automatically.
